Our Neighborhood Spruce Up Grants are for Focus Neighborhoods Old Dundalk, Dun-Logan, St. Helena (City and County), Turner Station and Graceland Park (City and County) plus CHIA neighborhoods. Our goal is to fund meaningful, long-lasting, neighborhood-driven public space improvements. We’re excited to generate grassroots engagement, foster ownership of neighborhood spaces, improve safety, increase streetscape appeal, and help raise the quality of a community’s life.
Projects may include gateways and signage, pedestrian lighting, outdoor murals, and improvements to ‘unfriendly’ public spaces like bus stops, vacant lots or school grounds. They must have the support from local stakeholders – neighborhood associations, churches, schools or local businesses. And – applications will be reviewed by a committee of local stakeholders, including community residents, to ensure residents’ support.
An overview of the program and process is here; and the application is here. Every improvement has power.
